I am trying to wrap my mind around switching to Singapore for math but I can't seem to completely figure out what I need. There seem to be more than one "Singapore" and then do I just need a textbook or workbook? Is there a teacher's guide and if so is it useful? Really, any info would be appreciated.
All I use is... the textbook and the workbook.... US Edition (not common core), at each level. In one year, you usually do 2 levels. I do not use any sort of teachers guide, but own the answer keys. Also...
Ok..now I can finish.... The HIG and all the other versions of the teachers manuals were only written by American publishers after the fact. When I first started home schooling, they did not exist. Then Sonlight put out one and then others showed up. Another thing..the levels are not American grade levels. You need the placement exam. When 6B is done, your child is ready for algebra. This means your child can be doing 6a and 6b in 8th grade and not be behind average American track at all. You can do those levels in 7th grade and still be ahead of grade level and in algebra in 8th grade. SO...in otherwords, when your 3rd grader needs to start at level 2, don't be surprised, OR upset at all! That is great and right on target!
You are the person that I need! Can you give me a link to what you buy because I see references here and there of the non common core version but am unable to figure out which it is online.
