They llook good Aurie, I was wondering how teacher friendly they are? Do they help you teach it or do you have to know it already? I have only seen the up to K-1 levels where it did not matter.

Their lessons are set up in a weekly format rather then daily. It is about getting your hands physically into learning. In K, they will ahve the children draw letters in the sand or paint them with fingers and place stickies on them, etc. There are many projects, no lines on paper, very earthy. This is supposed to foster a love of learning in the older ages so that children will want to learn the basics, making it easier on the teacher. Thus, it goes over concepts, briefly. So, I think one would have to know a bit (not alot, but a bit) about what they are teaching in order to be able to teach it. This applies primarily to grammer and math.

We did K12 our first year. I think most anyone could deal with that kind of lesson planning. It pretty much told you (the teacher) what to do/say/show in order to teach it. Thus if you didn't know, you would still be able to do it.

I don't think OM leaves you completely in the dark. But if you have poor skills yourself, it would be more difficult to use in the later years.

We are using grades 1, 4 and 5(lang)/6(math). The lower grades (prek-3) are very user friendly as their philosophy is not to push education on kids until age 9/10. My older two are very good in math, thus why we are looking for something else.

I didn't mean to hijack the thread. PM me if you have additional questions :)
