We will be starting an 18-week study on Archaeology and the Bible (using the Oklahoma Homeschool unit study as an outline). My kids have been begging to visit Boston after DD13 went to camp nearby this summer. I found out that the Dead Sea Scrolls will be at the Museum of Science in Boston through Oct. 20th, so it looks as if the kids will get their wish!

Researching online, there is just so much to see/do in the Boston area that I am overwhelmed by all the choices. We will only have about 4 days in the city because of dance and work schedules. I was wondering if anyone had any must-do places/activities or suggestions and ideas?

Also, anyone have any recommendations for good vegan (or even just vegetarian) restaurants?

    Thanks!
    Michelle

You'll have a great time! I'm from Boston (but now live in the midwest) and the culture and history there is unbeatable. Look into the Freedom Trail as a way to see a lot of history and a lot of the city.

Shelle - wasn't that supposed to be a 12 week study???? BWAAAHAAAHAAAA!!!!

We visited Boston a few years ago....the youngest was TOO young to do much. One thing I had wanted to do was the circle tour which goes around to all the major sites of Boston. You can even get off the bus and visit a location and get back on another bus later if you like. We wanted to do the aquarium, many Bostonians recommended that.

One time when Bobby & I were there we took in Shakespeare in the Park on the Boston College Grounds.

You can also do the walking tour which follows Paul Revere's path on his famous midnight ride. :)

Krista---yes! With the addition of trips and lots of activities, my 12-week study has morphed into 18 weeks, LOL!!! Partly because I think I'm going to add a few more days to our Boston trip and hit NYC on the way home. And, partly because I am just no good at condensing...I want to do it all!

I knew I should have never bought a subscription to the Biblical Archaeology Review magazine, there's so much content that just when I think I've finally finished planning this unit, I read something else that I just HAVE to add.
