    Hi,
I'm trying to find more computer related stuff for us to do next year (6th grade) this seems to be the way my child thrives. I was wondering if any of you have ever used Switched on Schoolhouse or any other Alpha Omega stuff before. How religious is it?
    Thanks for any opinions.

    Hi Kim,
I have used AOP workbooks in the past with my two. As far as religious content; I thought they were fine for anyone with any Christian faith.
My ds loves computer based programs too. If you do use SOSH, please let us know how it works. I have a friend who has a friend, haha who does use it with an older son. I think he is 6th grade. They said there a few bugs, but AOP knew and was working on them. Next time I talk to her, I'll ask what they were and if they were resolved.

I used switched on schoolhouse at the beginning of the year. The material was great but it moves fast and the reading is advanced. It was too advanced for my child. Oh I was using a 6th grade level. If your child is an excellent reader they should do fine but not for the struggler.

I found some good computer stuff at Target called Elementary School Success which has 23 subjects on 13 cd roms. Geared for grades 1-6. My dd loves them all except for a few of the character voices. I think they were around $40. I've even had my memory refreshed a few times and my dh and I ran across a question we had to look up the answer to and he is our math "expert". I think it was worth the money.

Yes, I think those cds are a wonderful price. I may look for those myself. I don't usually use target but I may try it. If anyone sees them anywhere else please let me know.

I can't wait to check out Target this weekend. 8)

    Lorna,
Thanks for the info on the SOSH being fast paced. I was thinking of putting my ds in 3rd since he is having such an easy go of 2nd. He is reading fine for his age, but I think he would be stressed with SOSH now.
    Thanks ladies.

We have a Costco here, and they have those cd "...Success" sets. Maybe Sam's Club has them also??? I don't know, we don't have one here. Any warehouse type store like those, that have computer type games and educational things, should have those. It's worth checking into, sometimes they're cheaper. I've seen them at our Costco, but I don't remember how much they cost...
