In the fall I was looking at preschool-in-a-box type curriculums, and decided to just do workbooks this year. Now I'm starting to re-think for next year. Mother Goose Time looks good. any input? I want such minimal prep time that I actually stick with it. I'm very afraid of dropping the ball, but really don't want to put DS4 or DD3 (at that time) in an institutional preschool. thanks.

I have looked at it in the past, and it does look good, but it's too curriculumy for me for preschool, we prefer to unschool and it's working great! I also could never justify the cost (I think it was about $50 a month when I looked.. eek).

Have you looked at BFIAR, Letter of the week, preschool by stormie or hubbards cupboard? They do require some prep, but if you spend just a little time you can put together a few months at one time.

I tried letter of the week preparatory last year (with a 2 y/o and 1 y/o), and I was doing SO MUCH prep work that nothing else got done around the house.

preschool here is $65/month for less than 4 days/week, about a hundred per month for all 5 days. In Hawaii, where we'd be if I got my way, it's $500/mo. seriously. crazy.

So, I see 80/month(total) for my three kids as a good bargain.

haven't looked at the others much. BFIAR's website isn't too helpful. I'll google more. thanks.

BFIAR isn't too expensive (I think it's like $20 for the book) and all the books are either library-able or fairly easy to find.

Also, there's www.homeschoolshare.com that has all sorts of lapbooks and stuff to go with it.

But...if you're looking for something that's all laid out for you, BFIAR is not it. You do have to do some legwork, gathering supplies, etc.

On the other hand, it's awesome, hands on, lots of fun, very enriching for family life, type curriculum.

I've never heard of Mother Goose Time, I'd be curious to see it.

There's just so much free stuff out there, I'd say save your $$$ so you can get the upper level currics you want :D But that's just me. :D

I have to say I have never heard of it before this post - but I checked it out and it looks FUN. :D A little pricey - but hey, it seems to come with just about everything. If I were doing pre-school again it would make the short list.
