    Hi!
My friend is a Blue Star Mom and they are putting this together, she is giving a presentation at our church ladies breakfast and is asking for schools to help by having kids write, I also have a list of items they are collecting if anyone wants to they can pm me and I will send them a copy of the list.
Its really a neat idea to have kids at schools do this so I thougth why not homeschools?
    We can get involved too!
What a great way to bless our soldiers with our kids wonderful artwork or poetry or just a simple letter sharing how they are appreciated?
There was a picture that did not show up on the paste but it had pictures of home made cards, and post cards, thats what they want. The soldiers love these things!
Her son is very young soldier, and is about to start his second tour of duty in this war.
I know when my hubby was at war I wrote to him each week and sent big boxes of goodies so he could share them with his fellow sailors.
So lets see what we can do to share the blessings!
    Thanks !
    :)

    Operation Postcard
There is nothing like a letter or postcard from the home front to let a soldier, sailor, marine or airman know that he or she is supported and their service is appreciated. Don't underestimate the value of your greeting!

Here's how you can help us...
Ask your family, friends, schools, clubs, churches or any group or individual to write a positive message of support.
Any card will do, or even an index card that children can create with a hand drawn picture on the front and a message on the back.
No need to stamp them, as we include them in our care packages
Ideas for beginning your message: "Dear Serviceperson," "Dear US Protector," "Hello from ... (Your Town or State)." Tell them about yourself, too.
If you include your name and address, often you will hear back.
Keep the messages positive. Teachers please edit cards and letters from your students.
For more information about Operation Postcard please contact our Operation Postcard Chairmom — OpPostcard@bluestarmoms.org ÊPlease see our calendar for dates and places where you will find us.

    Here is my letter she sent to me;

Thank you for your interest in "Operation Postcard." Our soldiers love receiving hand made-cards and letters from our young people here at home. As part of our care packages, we included these heartfelt messages to our troops in our boxes. Our current care package drive is called, "A Hero's Picnic" and our picnic boxes will be mailed on June 23rd to be delivered by the 4th of July. We would love to included your children's cards and letters of encouragement in our shipment. I have emailed you a brochure on "Operation Postcard" which gives more details and where to send your packet of cards. Of course, I would be delighted to except your cards personally if that is more convenient. Thank you for your interest in helping the Blue Star Moms with "Operation Postcard" and "Supporting our Troops." I have also attached information on our current care package drive. We always appreciate help from our community with our care package drive. God's Blessing to You and Your Family.
