In case it matters I am looking for 4th grade. I was thinking of using this for both my kids. My son is doing 2-3rd grade work and my dd is doing 4th-5th grade work. So, ya think 4th for both would work?

    Thanks again!

I ordered almost all of my curr. from Rock Solid Inc. They were the cheapest and had no shipping charges for orders over $75.00 and no tax for me in GA.:D

Oh, I ordered Apologia Science-General Science CD(full text plus solutions) for $47.94. Hope I got a good deal!?!

The Astronomy book I got new from CBD or one of those, I forget which one had the best price.

The Physical Science one I got from ebay.

The Biology I got from ebay or homeschool classifieds, I forget.

    you can purchase it

Rainbow Resource and Christian Book are both good sources for supplies. Also, check out the apologia website for the free notebooking pages they offer for their elementary series. The elementary series focuses on subject per year. If you prefer variety, you could purchase two or three books and switch back and forth to change things up.

Apologia's elemnetary series is multi-level. I ordered one from Rainbow Resource for last year. It was around $25, I think. This year I got my book from HSLDA's auction (brand new for $18).

I got ours from RR. They were $24.95 each. But I ordered everything from them, so I ended up not paying any shipping.

Maybe I shouldn't give advice on where to buy curr. I have only ever ordered from the websites that I have received catalogs for and I could be getting ripped off. I guess I don't know where to search for HS material because I have never even looked on Ebay, but I never use that site anyway. I am afraid I would get hooked!

you ordered a different science level

What you ordered was likely General Science? Is that right? The elementary science series is a different product. There was nothing wrong with the price you paid!

I think we got ours on Ebay , or hs classifieds, we were bidding on ebay and bought some stuff outright, and also had emails to classifieds.... I think we got it for half price there, or at least 1/3rd off,
also was looking at some EHW there but didnt get it so went with CBD

I got the astronomy one off eBay - $27 I think including shipping.

I'm using it for 2nd & 5th grade combined. I did it as a Buy It Now so I didn't have to deal with the auction aspect (I'm impatient)

Hey...what do you think of Considering God's Creation? Found that at a good price. I was looking into both Apologia and that but since I heard more about Apologia I was figured I would just buy it. lol...yep real thought there. In my search I also found a series call Christian Kids Explore Biology and there are others that start out the same.

I am hopeless. This is the first year I am doing a solid christian based science curriculum so I want to make sure I start out on the right foot. Seems most use Apologia and are happy with it though.

I did find Apologia for $26.25...now I forgot which website...lol..I have it saved. On ebay..they didn't have the one I was looking for. Do I have to start out with Astronomy or can I start with the Flying Creatures. Not sure how the whole series works.

    Thanks for your patience everyone!

I got Christian Kids Explore Chemistry for my dd (10yo). That's what she wanted to learn, and this was under $25! It is supposed to get here any day now!

I forget what we ended up paying for Exploring Creation but dh cut most of the costs down all but the EWH, which was 85, and we have to wait for it to be in stock on the end of the month.

Rock Solid is where I get my stuff for the most part also. They are a great outfit and do a lot to serve the local homeschoolers. (I can drive and get to there store, and do not have to mail order)
