Okay I keep reading about app's that are great for kids to learn with. But I have to say I have yet to find a functional app for anything useful. So I am asking the experts aka as you all to help me out. What are your favorite app's. The kids got tablets to help with school but so far all we have used is sites for research..I would be really interested in a grade 3-5 spelling app or geography app.
My husband gave me a tablet for Christmas, so I've been searching for the same thing. I just found this Live Binder... http://www.livebinders.com/play/play/801275 . I'm still checking it out to see if any of the suggestions are good.
My favourite is Math Board. You can set your own math drills for + - * and / It lets you use multiple user names and saves your settings and results. Love it!! Worth every penny ($5ish?)
I have a few on mine that I let the kids play, but honestly they are just for fun, I expect nothing to be learned by them. They would rather use their tablet time for things like angry birds and candy crush lol The Brainpop and BrainpopJR apps are great.
My kids have really enjoyed stack the states, but since you are in canada maybe stack the countries? But we just got ours and we are still on the look out for good ones, let you know if we find any other hits!
I just saw this website today: http://www.kindertown.com/ Maybe a lot of these would be too young for your kids though. My youngest is 10 but she was interested in several. I'm soooo lame when it comes to this kind of stuff. I just got her a kindle fire hd. But, I look at this website and for device it will say ipad, universal, or iphone (I know I can't get any for iphone). So...is a kindle an ipad? Or should I only be looking at the ones marked "universal"??
