My kids favorite is to put little smokies in a crock pot and add one jar of grape jelly and one bottle of mustard. I have cooked them in a dutch oven when I needed them in a hurry. I don't have exact measurements for the jelly and mustard. I use about two cups of jelly and one cup of mustard. It makes a sauce and the kids love it. I use about 4 or 5packs of little smokies to fill my crock pot. I buy them when they are on sale and keep them in the freezer.

my son LOVES my "special sauce" its litte smokies in the pan (or crockpot) with grape jelly and KETCHUP and a few dashes of hot sauce. --- he hates jelly and ketchup so it is funny, it goes with little frozen meatballs too. We also like the little smokies wrapped in biscuit or crescent roll dough and baked...... as stated above.

I have a lot of appetizer recipes. I'll check

my mom used to make polish hamburgers---- little rye breads mix velveta with cooked ground beef and garlic powder, put a little bit on each rye bread.

I also saw tiny grilled cheese with just some velveta or cheddar inbetween two of the mini rye breads, (one side of each bread buttered, put one buttered bread on cookie sheet butter side down, put cheese, and then other bread butter side up on top, then broil in the oven ...... cute!

    from my friend Redawna:

    Parmesan & Thyme Crackers

    1 cup of flour
2 tablespoons of fresh thyme (or rosemary)
    1/4 cup of butter
1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese (or cheddar)
    1/2 cup of sour cream
    Salt and pepper

    1.Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2.Place flour, thyme, butter and salt and pepper into the bowl of a food processor. Pulse until combined. Add cheese and sour cream and pulse a few more times, until dough comes together.
3.Roll out into a log and wrap in saran wrap. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
4.Using a sharp knife, slice discs off of the roll and place on a lined baking sheet. Press an herb leaf into the center of each. Bake for 15 minutes, until they just start to brown.

    Enjoy.

and this would go with it, also from Redawna:

    Warm Artichoke and Parmesan Dip

1 jar jar (6 oz/170 ml) marinated artichokes
    1 tablespoon butter
    3 cloves garlic, minced
    1 small onion, finely chopped
1 cup 35% real whipping cream
    1 package (8 oz/ 250 g) cream cheese, cubed
1 1/2 cup (125 ml) grated parmesan cheese, divided
1 tablespoon (15 ml) chopped fresh basil
    sliced baguette, toasts or crackers

1.Drain artichokes, reserving 2 tbsp (30 ml) marinade.
    2.Finely chop artichokes; set aside.
3.In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat; cook garlic and onion, stirring, for about 5 min or until golden. Add cream and bring to boil; reduce heat and simmer for 5 min or until slightly reduced. Stir in cream cheese until melted. Stir in artichokes and reserved marinade. (Can be cooled, covered and refrigerated for up to 2 days).
    4.Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
5.Stir 1/3 cup (75 ml) of the Parmesan and basil into artichoke mixture; transfer to shallow 4-cup (1 L) oven-proof serving dish and sprinkle with remaining Parmesan.
6.Bake for about 20 min or until hot and bubbling.
7.Serve with sliced baguette, toasts or crackers.

    Enjoy!

Freddy makes these and we all love them.
Take one club cracker broken into the smallest section and put about a half a teaspoon of parmesan cheese on top, cut a bacon stip in half and wrap one half around the cracker. Bake on a wire rack over a pan or on a broiler pan at 350 dregrees until the bacon is done. He makes a rack full and they get gone before he can get another one done.

I make the wraps. Soft tortilla shells spread with cream cheese & chopped onions. Then a slice of ham. Roll them up and slice them. My family likes them with a sliced pickled rolled inside and we dip them in salsa. Sometimes we keep them whole and eat them as a meal.

    Stuffed mushrooms:
    1 pkg. whole mushrooms
1 8z. pkg. cream cheese, softened
    1 clove garlic, minced
    1/4 tsp. red pepper
    1/4 c. Parmesan cheese
    1 tbsp. oil

Use a spoon to remove the stem from the cap of the mushrooms. Cut off the hard end of the stems. Dice stems finely. Heat oil in pan and add garlic and mushroom stems. Cook until tender. Mix stems with cream cheese, add pepper and cheese. Add a spoonful to each mushroom and place in a baking dish. Bake at 350 until you see liquid forming under the mushrooms (about 15-20 min).

    These are best HOT!

Take two bars of cream cheese and spread them in a ceramic/glass type pan (usually a square 9 by 9 or something similar). Cover that with a large can of Hormel chili with no beans (you can use the beans, but I don't like them so I get the no beans...lol). THEN, sprinkle 2 cups of shredded cheese on top of that (I usually use 4-cheese Mexican by Kraft). You can top that with cilantro or green onions (optional). Warm in the microwave until cheese is melted. Viola'! It's cheap, and super easy. Use chips to dip! I always get compliments on it and people beg me to bring it to parties. :)

You can use a metal pan if you don't have ceramic and just warm it in the oven on low heat until cheese is melted as well.

Spinach dip (on the back of the Knorr Vegetable Dip packet)
I buy or bake some bread (Hawaiian Sweet bread is our fave) or serve with crackers.

We personally don't add the onions or watercrests....just chopped spinach, mayo, sour cream, and the dip packet...chill for 2 hours.

    OK, now I'm hungry!

    QUICK -

    Cocktail Meatballs.....

1 bag reg or italian small meatballs (or homemade about 1/2" balls)
    1 can "hotdog chili" sauce(16oz)
    grape jelly (16 oz)

place hotdog chili in saucepan, fill empty can with jelly to measure....add to chili sauce
...heat and stir until grape jelly combines well with chili. Add meatballs and heat.

    Tortilla Wraps
    1 pkg Cream Cheese
1 envelope Ranch Dressing Dry Mix (Hidden Valley Ranch?)
1 2oz can diced black Olives
    1 2 oz jar pimentoes
1 2oz jar green chilies (these aren't HOT, usually found in mexican food section)
    3 large tortillas
    green onion

soften cream cheese and mix with ranch dressing mix. Using one third, spread thickly on tortilla. Sprinkle drained pimentoes, chilies, olives and onion over mix. Roll up tight, wrap with saran wrap and store in fridge for 2-3 hrs. Remove and slice into 1/2" pieces.

    * Storing in fridge firms up the cream cheese mix for easier slicing.

Quesadillas -- we just had Christmas Eve dinner at my daughter's, and she made these with just tortillas, pepperjack cheese, diced tomatoes sprinkled with black pepper. You could do them in the oven, but my son-in-law did them on the grill outside. Very simple, but very tasty.

They also made some other things - I don't know what you call them, but they were just pitted dates wrapped in bacon and held on wooden skewers, and done on the grill outside until the bacon was done. If you do them in the oven, you wouldn't necessarily have to do skewers, the purpose of which is to keep them from falling through the grill... Very tasty! They said there was supposed to be a bleu cheese sauce, but they didn't know how to make it yet, but we thought they were just fine without sauce. They'd had those at a tapas bar a few weeks ago. We also supposed you could stuff the dates with something, like maybe herbed creamcheese.

You can do a twist on the meatballs and use Cranberry Sauce and Chili sauce instead of Jelly and ketchup or mustard. :) my dad made these for Christmas eve and they were yummy!

Lets see....my tried and trues are:

Mimi Dip (named for the woman who made it up)

    3 blocks of cream cheese
1 16 oz jar salsa or picante sauce (you choose heat level)
shredded cheese, chopped tomatoes, diced green peppers, diced olives, sliced scallions.

Mix cream cheese and salsa together until smoothy and creamy. Spread in a large serving dish. Sprinkle top with cheese, tomatoes, peppers, olives, etc.

Serve with Tortilla chips. I like the scoopy kind.

I also like cucumber slices with cream cheese on them. I like to put black and green olives and scallions in the cream cheese and then pipe out in nice dollups on the cuke slices.

OOOh....pepperoni rolls. Spread a SMALL amount of cream cheese on a piece of pepperoni and rol up - secure with toothpick - helps with serving too. YUMMY.

    :)
