I have heard this mentioned in several posts and am looking for some information on them. I would love to get my children involved in this program but there is none nearby :( Is this something one could do at home? I work with the children's program at our church but we had to end our Missionettes/ Royal Rangers programs for lack of helpers. I am wondering if maybe we would be able to find willing leaders by combining into awana program instead of two different boy/girl clubs.... Hmmm We have a very small church though which is going through alot but I might look for another church which offers children's programs :oops: Anyway just looking for some information on program structure Thanks

There isn't an "at home" version to my knowledge, but you can do pretty much the same thing at home with your child(ren) Maybe go visit one out of town, sit in, and see how the night goes and model it at home? Maybe you can find a church that will sell or give you old awana books (I got a cubbies teacher book this way) Have you checked out their website? http://www.awana.org/

When you go to the website, see if you can find your state missionaries. That's the person you want to contact about it. I know that Rachael does the high school program independently.

Dh and I were T&T Directors for years. We had a tiny, TINY church at the time, but we had tons of kids come for Awana. It was a fantastic outreach to the kids and their families if you are willing to forge relationships with them. :)

Make sure to check out Awana's statements of faith. The churches I know who use RR/Miss. are usually Assemblies of God churches who will differ some with Awana on doctrines concerning eternal security. PM me if you'd like.

Awana is designed for outreach, so it can work for any sized church, as long as you have the workers. It takes LOTS of workers to run Awana programs effectively.

I've worked in Awana for 4 years, the last 2 as a director. I resigned for next year, because it was becoming overwhelming- working PT, homeschooling, having uncommitted/not enough workers....My kids will likely still participate. I just had to step back for a while. It's a great program when run correctly. (I say that because we were at one time invloved in a program that did not follow Awana guidelines and did it their own way. It was terrible!!)
