This was our last year for AWANAS. ds8 won an award for clubber of the month, but nobody could tell me what he did to win it. I think it was for learning the most verses, but the child can't tell me a single verse he learned. How well could he have learned them, if he can't remember them? Isn't that the point? I made them at least finish out the year, but we won't be going back. It is expensive, and ds hates it. The only reason dd10 wants to go is because her friends are there. She hates the workbooks, the "dorky" t-shirt uniforms, the "lame" songs and games, etc. I just thought after all those years spent in Cubbies, Sparks, and T&T, I'd have seen more spiritual growth. They don't seem to have retained a thing.
