I recently read a post by one of the members that had a link to her DD's baking blog. There was a recipe posted for Samoa brownies on her blog. I've never seen this variation anywhere. I can't find the blog again. If you're the member that posted the link, would you mind pointing me back to it? I made the brownies last night and they were the hit of the dinner! Absolutely delicious!
Found it at last! I will now be able to make some friends very happy by recreating this fabulous dessert. Here it is if anyone's interested: http://chantillylacesugarandspice.blogspot.com/2013/03/samoa-brownies.html
HA! I just searched for this post because I remembered reading it and I saw the link in her siggy! And those brownies look deadly dangerous! Oh my goodness I wish I had all the stuff to make those right now!!!!
I learned a while ago not to look at that blog. I haven't been there in a long time... I'm too scared of what mess I may create in my kitchen trying to recreate the yummy-ness that is shown there. I do love her sister's hats though.
I cannot tell you how good those brownies were. It was an out of body experience, eating them. What's funny is I added these at the last minute to ensure we didn't run out of dessert at Thanksgiving. I didn't look closely at the recipe and didn't have a couple of the ingredients, so I ended up making homemade caramel from a recipe I googled (suprisingly easy) and used chocolate chips melted with butter to drizzle over the top. Everyone asked for this recipe and insisted I make it each time I come over! (Um, that's probably not going to happen... ) It's definitely worth making. Given my experience with it, I'm going to try making some of the other recipes on the blog. Mmm, mmm!
Shhhh you aren't helping my diet (or lack there-of) lol You are really making me weak. I may have to make them too....
Oh my goodnes...I just saw this now. My daughter will be so excited that you loved the brownies! She hasn't gotten to post anything new for quite awhile. She's laid off from that job at the diner for the winter months...so she and her manager don't get together very often to bake...and this summer her manager has had so many health problems. And, not only that, but dd has a little photography buisness going on and she's been pretty busy taking senior portraits. I will tell her you enjoyed the recipe....I know she will be so happy!
