Here's a heads up on the BN summer reading program that starts May 26th and runs through September 7th. A child reads any 8 books, fills out the form, and can choose a free book at the store. In years past, kids have been allowed to do this twice, for a total or 2 free books. Here's the website with specific information: http://www.barnesandnoble.com/summerreading/
Thanks! My kids were going to do this last year but decided to do the local library's instead. The free book list was of no interest. lol. Silly kids. Maybe I'll have them try it again this summer.
Thanks. We did this last year. I was a bit perturbed when we took my youngest's list in. We read 8 books together. To facilitate the list, her older sister listed the books for her. The lady at B&N questioned if she read them, and who made the list.
Wondering , since you have done it before, the journal only goes up to 6th grade, so does your 12 yr old get to do it still this year? Mine will be done with 6th soon here. almost 12
I was wondering the same thing. We have finished 6th grade, so I am going to ask B&N if my DD qualifies. She would love to do it. Thanks for sharing this info.
I just called my local Barnes & Noble. They said they are not strict about age and if she could find something on the free book list that she was interested in she could participate. She is very excited to begin.
