Hubby was cut loose this morning from his job of 8 years.. Caught completely off guard and totally hurt by it.... He called me a little after 12 to let me know what had happened.. Of course he was leaving already, but the fact that they wouldn't even let him work the last week of his notice really bothered him.. BUT he did get paid for next week and got his christmas pay so that made me feel a little bit better.. Maybe he will get a week of rest before he starts his new adventure.. We shall see.. Please pray for us.. We are both harboring really bad feelings towards these people..

So sorry. Praying that the job transition goes smoothly and is a good thing or everyone.

Try to just let it go and get on with life. I have a new policy for my life. I do not let anyone steal my joy. It is nice to just enjoy my family and my life and not let people's actions or words bother me any more. It took a while to get to this point but it really feels great.

Thanks.. I REALLY needed this encouragement today.. You would NOT BELIEVE what all we have had to deal with today.. I'm beyond annoyed.. I'm aggrivated at myself for feeling like this and I'm beyond frustrated over some things that have happened today.. Trying to give it to God.. REALLY trying to, knowing that HE IS IN CONTROL but goodness...

All his tools are out of the old shop and into another for the time being.. Until he can get a service truck anyway... He has work lined up and will be working on SUNDAY of all days :/ not too happy about that, but ya do what you gotta do I guess. He's ready to get this up and going..

    I am praying.

When the economy fell, we learned a great lesson. It was a big wake up that all things come to an end and we can't live as if we are assured work tomorrow. Besides, when God closes a door, he always opens another. He probably has a different plan than you guys had. :D

Thanks.. God's got this.. He has a much better plan than we could ever even dream of.. Doesn't mean things are gonna be all peaches and cream though.. Struggles make us rely on him more.. :) It's all good.. Things are going to be Okay.. Jeremiah 29:11 Comes to mind once again.. Just because it's hard doesn't mean God isn't still there..

Our children's message today was about giants in our lives. We built a giant out of cardboard boxes and taped them together until they were over 9 feet high. We talked about giants like sickness, bullies, moving to a new town, death of a loved one or whatever we fear. Then we talked about how the tape held the boxes together and how if we let Him into our hearts, God will stick to us even stronger than that packing tape stuck our giant together. The kids loved it. I know you and your husband, with God's help, will beat this giant in your family's life. Praying for you!

Thanks for all your prayers.. My husband is settling in with his new "job". Making much more money than he was at the other place.. Excited to see where this will take him and the opportunities that it will allow my boys to have being that they will be working with him.. :)

The other day, I spent much of the day praying for someone who faced a very important meeting with the INS. A few days later, I learned that the INS postponed the meeting for several months, that the person's father died that very day, and that they were beaten up and had to spend two days in hospital. Is God mocking me? When I prayed for a fish, did God give me a snake?

No! What I learned through this is that I should not be praying for personal benefit or success, either for friends or for myself, but for opportunities to help others in real and practical and sacrificial ways. That way, those around me can see the impact of God's love on my life. I needed to learn this lesson: Prayer is about God demonstrating his glory, not about making our lives easier. It's comforting to know, however, that we're never tested beyond our ability to cope.

I was going to write "hang in there", but maybe I should be writing "thank God for putting you through trials with which you can cope and, in the process, demonstrate the impact of Christ's love on your life." :)

Sorry for posting this two weeks late! Am glad things have sorted.

As hard as this has been, I count it as a BLESSING!! Because I truely believe these are the times that we realize that God is bigger than anything we face and that HIS glory is made known.. I give HIM all the glory even in the trials.. I do not want my life to be perfect, because if it were I would not ever learn to rely on him.. I do consider it all joy when I face trials because I know he is teaching me to lean on him and he will be glorified... My faith is strengthened each time I go through something..and it has been a doozie, let me tell ya.. Watching a child gasp for air all night, hubby changing jobs, Hubby's health issues and whatever else comes along.. BUT I'm LIVING LIFE!! And I thank God for the lessons I learn during times of Adversity!! ALL this Is part of my testimony of God's love and grace in my life.. ALL OF IT!! :)
