Since Book It! was mentioned in the Grocery Post I thought I would let know about one we are doing. I can't remember where I got it so bear with me if this is a repeat.

Your child can sign up to take a short quiz about books they have read and get points for prizes. You sign up to so that your child can receive the prizes they earn. The prizes I thought would be worth it are the free 6 months of Highlights and a Science CD(which is the one my dd is hoping for). They have a list of books for every grade that have quizs on, but we have found a lot of books that we have read already.

We have been having fun with this one. It lets me know how much they are actually paying attention when they read or we read aloud(which I wonder about sometimes).
They are having fun answering questions (usually about 10) about the books and seeing how much they can remember.

Thanks for the info. Many families from my hs group in DC participated in this and Book-it. Have you rec. any of the prizes? I need to check them out again. My worry was putting my kids name and address on the web.
