I would like to purchase some living books for my girls, ages 8 and 9, but need some recommendations. I have been looking online, but can't find a list anywhere. Are there any websites our there that would be helpful? Thanks all!
I always like to peruse the lists of read alouds from Sonlight (www.sonlight.com). They have some great living book suggestions. We don't use Sonlight, but I always go there first when looking for books to match up. If you go and pick the core that's closest to what you're studying, then click on the internal tab for that core that shows the read aloud list.
When I am looking for books for my kids I like accelerated reader program website. It is the reading program that most public schools have. you can search for books according to grade level and interest level. It is a site that I use often when I want to search for books or find out what level a book is.
What level are they reading on? Can they read the Little House books on their own? Do you want more classical stuff, or just "popular"?
My blog has our lists of books we read at which grade. Just click on the familyd.50megs.com website under my name. Then click on book lists, I think the page name is.
Totally OT here, but Gwenny I read what you said about responsibility on your blog. Your son sounds like a very mature young man!! Kudos to both of you!!!
