We're struggling to find some board games for our children which we don't already have - the usuals...scrabble, monopoly etc...all the traditional ones... Its our 6 year olds birthday soon and they say they haven't got anything to play....despite having dolls house and all manner of stuffed things...lol. But we would like some recommendations of board games as when we look at them - we can't see the fun in it. We're actually terrible when we buy things - it must have an "educational" value - but actually - they need to have fun too....we just can't find anything to point at? Would there be some recommendations out there - girls are 8 and 6 Many thanks SS
Go to the MindWare site...they have tons of fun games like Qwirkle, Pix Mix and more. I am in a hurry or I would expand on this...sorry!
How about chess and checkers? Also, there's UNO, apples to Apples, and TONS of new stuff out there. recently bought "hoppit" for my kids, something about frogs hopping around on a board, which was on clearance for $2 so I bought it on impulse, but they actually liked it! Just try some out... By the way, I like browsing things online, and then going on Amazon to read the reviews, before I actually buy anything....it saves me money and buyer's remorse
I asked a similar question just a little while ago if you want to check out that thread. I got some really good ideas. http://www.homeschoolspot.com/showthread.php?t=27768&highlight=board+games or you can search game suggestions
Brilliant - thank you - I was in a rush when I first posted this and didn't think to check back. The sad thing was I trawelled all day on Sunday and I just didn't see anything inspiration or within budget and just felt a reccomendation would serve me better. Thanks Ava - will check that out when I have 5 minutes. Yes - will have to have a mooch around the shops to see what I can find at the weekend.... Thanks for the suggestions SS
