DS is using the 5-day free trial, and is hooked! He's really enjoying all of the science videos.

The annual subscription for a 1 student homeschool is $99! That's so expensive to pay all at once.
    :(

I'm trying to figure out of it's worth it to getthe subscribtion. Does anyone else use brainpop as part of your curriculum?

If I'm not mistaken, they have a monthly payment plan. $99 is expensive and there's no way I could pay that all at once but with a payment plan I would come closer to subscribing..

I didn't see a monty payment plan, but I didn't look very hard. It's got really great info presented in bite-sized chunks, and it has quizzes you can take after each video.
DS spent almost an hour straight using it, instead of playing Nintendo! And he had nintendo time today, so that's a big deal to me.

Ok, I saw the monthly payment plan. It's $9.95 a month, but it's a 12 month commitment. DH hates making commitments like that.

I don't like that either. If you don't want it, you're stuck with it anyway. Maybe someone will chime in and help you out with a decision.

My son got BrainPop for free through his cyberschool - and boy it was great! He would spend tons of his FREE time on there learning about every subject under the sun! He has left the cyberschool 1.5 years ago, but all of his log-on info still works. He still goes on sometimes, not as much because I think he reviewed nearly everything on there. I use it now with my younger kids - Brain-Pop Jr. I think it presents lessons that they can SEE and HEAR, reinforcing the material.

You can get a subscription to Brainpop, BrainpopJR, Brainpop Spanish, AND a rather basic student subscription (but I haven't found anything yet you cant get to if you already have the link to it and SatoriSmiles blog has a great list of links) to Discovery Education Streaming through G3 for $59 a year!!! You just join their forums and your subscriptions are included.

The membership is good until like the end of July of next year, then you can join again! Scroll down on this page and look for the enroll thing for the social network forum: http://www.onlineg3.com/mod/page/view.php?id=3226
