I love to bake bread and one of my favorite cookbooks is BREAD ALONE. I have a much loved copy and an extra copy I got for my daughter but she said she didn't need it. Okay...
Anyway, If anyone would like to buy it please PM me. I am asking $7.00 and that includes shipping in the US. By the way, it is not brand new but is in excellent condition. Thanks.

(Sticking fingers in my ears, singing very loudly, "LA-LA-LA!!! I DON'T SEE THIS!!!!" (I'd love it, but really can't justify buying ANOTHER cookbook, especially since we're moving and I'm trying to purge!)

Lol come on guys, you can't have too many cookbooks can you? Seriously though, yhis is a thread from a couple of months back and someone already bought the book. I should have come back and posted that but just didn't think of it. When is the move date Jackie? Part of me thinks moving would be cool but all I have to do is look around this house and I come to my senses!

I have one cookbook that I have had for over a year and it has never been opened. I don't even remember why I bought it. I guess I liked the title.

Yeah. I got one from Half-Price Books which I've yet to use, too! So another cookbook is NOT going to happen!

What is a cookbook? I use Google lol

Ok I have a few but don't use any of them often. My favonrite recipes are either my own made up concoctions or from internet searches.

Rachael requested a cookbook she could put her own recipes in for Christmas. She spent a good bit of her break copying some of her favorite recipes into it. And yes, she included my Amish Country White Bread!!!

    That sounds neat!

I keep my recipes in a binder (I type or print from the internet, then put each in a page protector. I make notes on the papers if I substitute or alter in any way). I figure when the zombie apocalypse happens, I won't have access to the internet. And I can't cook without a recipe.

Of course she added your bread recipe. She is smart! I need todo the binder idea with our family favorites. Some are not written out very well and are more from memory. If I don't write them out better I am afraid my kids will lose them. Oh great! Just what I needed. Another project! Sigh....

Gee thanks for the reminder Aimee, while hubby builds that washer I better start preserving my cooking career...lol

I use a folder and just throw things in there, a binder sounds much more organized.

So, were is this Amish Bread recipe????

Oh and Beth, before I cut ties with my mother, I begged for YEARS for her to make us kids a cookbook with all of our favorite recipes in it.. things like my Grandma's mac and cheese that was to die for, or the chicken that she once messed up and it turned out even yummier so she made it that way from then on. Now, I will never have these recipes (or the pictures from my childhood :( ).... please take some time and make your kids those books!! They will love them forever!

I got a Recipe Keeper a few years ago. I love the idea, but the binding is really poorly done and breaks easily. I took it into Office Max once, and they actually re-did it for me for free (!!!). But it's breaking again, and always coming undone. When Rachael asked for one, she made it VERY CLEAR she didn't want one like mine!

I think something like a better binder from Staples and insertable sheets (both whole page and photo sheets) would be pretty darn awesome.
