Do any of you know how I can tell when a new topic will be introduced on the DVD any given day? We are finding that Marlie just DOES NOT need all of the review and repetition that A Beka does, especially on the DVD. But, we've spent the $, so we want to continue using it at least, we are just paring it WAY down. So, what we want to do is only have her watch the DVD when a new topic will be introduced so she doesn't miss it. Any ideas?

    TIA!

We have use A Beka DVD's. I have found that yes, they are very repetitive, but that is how Elijah learns. He is in the 7th grade and we used them in 4th, 5th and now 7th. When we start watching them and realize that he know what they are covering, I just stop the DVD and see if he can do the workbook. If he can without any problems, I do not turn on the DVD. (that would be in math) I also view the workbook and see if we are just reviewing or need to watch the DVD. As far as History and Science, sometimes I skip the DVD and we just read and review ourselves. Language, same, we watch the DVD and if it is review and he knows it, we stop and just do the lesson ourselves. Of course if there is a test that day, the DVD doesn't need to be watched. I hope that helps. If you need any other info, pm me and we can maybe work it out thru there.
