Ok.. these are the grades I am teaching next year
    K-4th and 9th-10th

We've taken a big break and are about to move. Once we move... and get unpacked I'd like to pick up again but with all our moving drama and house hunting and health things.. I didn't plan ahead as I have EVERY year previous.. and missed ALL my homeschool conventions...

I really don't like SOS. I used lifepacs this year and wouldn't be opposed for the younger children for next year.. but for my oldest... I don't know.. I could use some insight on what you use, why and how it works for you all.

I'd appreciate your help more than you'll know!

Teaching Textbooks for math, Apologia for Science, Easy Grammar for English. That covers most of the important stuff for your oldest!

We use MUS, R&S for grammar (First Lang Lessons for youngers), Mystery of History. Spelling Power, English From the Roots Up, Foundations to Writing (by BIP and Learning Institute).

And our reading is literature to go along with history, as outlined by any of the boxed curric - Winter Promise and/or Illuminations (by Bright Ideas Press, publisher of MOH) are the ones we like and recommend.

Most of this is for my 4th grader; I also have kiddos entering 1st and K, but they don't use *all* of these.

Hubby took over science for oldest. For youngers we're doing Winter Promise.

i love heart of dakota. i have 3 kids and 2 are being home-schooled currently. it is possible to combine children if they are close in age, into one of their curriculum books.

the message boards for the curriculum are awesome also. we do use Math-u-see for my son and will use Living Learning Science for our science portion next year.

i find it to be a little less expensive than other curriculum and it covers everything you NEED for school , leaving you time to learn other things that just interest you.

check out their website at www.heartofdakota.com

Easy Grammar is great for grammar and all, but to make a complete English program, you also need writing, vocab, and literature.

My kids are constantly reading, so that counts for literature. Wordly Wise is great for vocab, or go with something like English from the Roots Up, that concentrates on teaching Latin/Greek origins of words.

story of the world for history grade 1 and up.
    wordly wise for vocab.
I've heard good things about sequential spelling for spelling grade 1 and up.
I've also heard of good thing about teaching text book for math grade 4th and up.

    Best of luck.
