    Does anybody here make candles?
How do you color them? Is there special colorings for wax or you can use something simple?

    I think Patty makes them.

I think there are special melts you get for coloring.

You can use color blocks or drops. They are both concentrated but the drops work better but they cost more. I use the blocks unless someone wants a really deep color.
If you are making candles for fun, you can use old Crayons but I wouldn't use them if you want to sell.

Making a candle, for the most part, is basic.

    Melt the wax/soy
    add stabilize
    add dye/fragrance.
    Poor

You can add different things to the candle, glitter dust, leaves. The sky is the limit.
...and you will add so much stabilizer for so much oil or wax because all fragrance oils have a different density.

Whatever you do, my suggestion would be to make sure you have a fire extinguisher because some oils and wax have a low flash point. Always make sure you have a double burner or a special wax burning pot? (I can't think of the name right now.)
Candle making is fun and relaxing, for me :p, but it could be very dangerous if not done properly.
    Good luck!
If you need help, let me know. I'll be glad to help.

It looks nice with Crayons but they don't completely melt. The extra, tiny, pieces will sink the bottom of the jar and to the sides. If you are using a mold, then they will sink to the bottom, which ends up being the top, of the mold.
But they still give a pretty, solid color to the candles. You just have to use more crayon than you would dye. Old broken Crayons come in handy for this.;)

    I almost forgot!
The cheap crayons do not work well at all. It has to be Crayola.:D
LOL, I just realized I am capitalizing the word crayons. I thought I put Crayola Crayons.

We used crayons when I was a kid! Made them in school for Christmas presents, but of course the red and green went quickly. So mine was ORANGE!!! We also put crushed ice in the container, and that gave it a really nice, holey effect. The wax would harden as it hit the ice, and the ice would melt and the water drain off. Very pretty! I think we used empty 1/2 gallon or quart milk cartons for our mold.
