Hey ladies! I just posted something in the homeschool forum and someone commented on how long it had been since I had shown my face around here.... Anyway, we are now in Ecuador!! My son has been having a LOT of trouble with ingrown toenails (who know they could possibly be so nasty?!?!), so he has surgery last week to take care of it. We are hopeful he will now be trouble free!! Riding through the Andes is certainly a different challenge than we faced in Central America - these climbs are crazy big! It isn't at all uncommon that we would climb 6- or 7ooo feet in one straight climb! We are taking it slow and easy - and breaking those big climbs into 2 days.
Glad the trip is going well despite the toe problem. Praying the surgery ends his pain. My legs hurt just thinking about those climbs...lol.
Thanks ladies! Davy is doing really well now. We took off the bandages the other day so his toes can scab over. He'll start wearing shoes rather than sandals on Sunday. I think he'll be ready to go in a week or so! and then we'll head out to tackle more hills...
I haven't been able to keep up with your journey like I would have liked but did get a kick out of your son's bridge t-shirt from Belize. My dh was born there!
Belize was beautiful! fortunately, we met the right people who helped us get off the road and into the jungle - GORGEOUS!!
