I need to figure out (maybe) a new system for my kids. I am feeling burned out with the weekly checklists/planning. It's worse on weeks when I work (Thurs-Sat) because I spend all Sunday afternoon and evening planning, filling out checklists, and loading up clipboards for the week after being out of town for 3 days.

We are relaxed, eclectic homeschoolers, so I don't have a curriculum to follow. Right now, I to sit down with each subject and plan out the week. I need something easier, but I don't know what that would look like.

Someone posted about the Easy Peasy- AllinOneHomeschool website. Has anyone on here actually used it? Is it really "easy peasy" as far as minimal planning? I am also wondering about content and if it is at least slightly rigorous?

    Any ideas? Suggestions?

Wish I could help. I'm a checklist slave. Although, I did do a major planning push and planned out all of our history for the rest of the year. All I had to do after that was plug in their day to day stuff.....

I'd love to hear about All In One Homeschool....it LOOKS good.....but...

I can't even make it to make the check lists ;) I'm terrible at it!!! Sat down with DS16 today and asked about how many modules are in science - well in order to finish by summer you need to work your tush off etc etc.

Personally I would love workbooks - finish the lesson.... move on.... but I don't think they learn well that way.

We just started using the easy peasy website today.. YES it IS easy.. i did a weeks worth in the 8th grade section just to see if there was anything I would have to help my son with and there wasnt... She has a video that shows you how to use her program.. it's simple and EXACTLY what i needed.. i still do a check list, but that's for me since my son wouldn't do his work when he was home last year.. This way he doesn't say he forgot or he didn't see it.. It's there on the computer and I also have it in his binder as a double check when he gets finished.. I liked the website so much that we may be using it with my other two as well..

Oh and the check list I do is just a basic one.. Math and then number how many different things he was supposed to do under it.. and he checks each one.. Today he had a lesson through easy peasy and i also printed out 2 worksheets so he had 2 things to check off; the Easy peasy lesson and the worksheets..

Thanks! I might give easy peasy a try for now to get me over this hump. I looked at the 7th grade schedule for my daughter and love the poetry unit. DD is in a weekly literature circle, so adding poetry won't feel as if it is too much for her. I guess I'll still use my checklists, but pull all of the info off of the EP website, so it should make the planning go so much faster...I hope!
