I was at Joann fabrics yesterday and I asked the lady what she was buying all the fishnet type material for. She told me she was making the shower scrunchies. You need at least 3 different colors and you cut them in strips 36" long and pile them on top of each other. Then you use a darning needle and sew them together in the middle. She uses the same string you use for cooking to tye them with (and sew with). They are really inexpensive to make. I plan to make a bunch for gifts this year.

sounds like a great idea. But is the fishnet, cheaper then going to dollar store and getting them made? I am sure they are better then dollar store just wondering? Not saying its a bad idea I love it. Going to look up on how to make them on line just wondering is the work worth it.

the fishnet is about 2.00 a yard so yes it's cheaper than buying them at the dollar store...because one yard can easily get 3-4 poufs(if you make them all one color). Plus they are nicer when they're handmade. :)
