So, in the past I have always known someone who would organize a Christmas charity activity. This year, I had nothing going on in any of my circles, so I decided I would look into it and try to organize something. As I was planning on getting in touch with the Salvation Army, I was visiting with someone I know from my community. As it turns out unemployment left their family struggling much more than I had realized. So, I figured who better to help than someone I knew. I was nervous at first since I wasn't sure how many people I could get to help me and if I would have to try to get everything myself (and how much could I get myself). Well, as it turns out, I have had about 10 people join me and we have wants and needs for all children and items needed by the family like laundry soap and special bath soap for skin sensitivities. It is wonderful seeing everyone pitching in and sharing in the Christmas spirit.

I love to hear how others get into the spirit of service during the holidays. Please share if your family has done anything special.
