Hello all, Does anyone know of a computer software curriculum? I have 3 dds and one of them is dyslexic. She has to be read to constantly. I need a curriculum that will allow me to be freed up some so that I can help my other two dds . I tried SOS and I can not get it to work on any of my computers. Any suggestions? Thanks, Melanee
Abeka has a DVD program... and someone else if I can remember who it is, I sent away for a sample and should get it in a few days...
http://www.time4learning.com/fifth-grade-math.shtml I looked up my sons work and found out that this site that many of the people on this site have done or are doing at some extent.. I checked the free stuff out and it talks to you and stuff, so that may be something you can use, look for your own age grade level and all that once you get there. Hope it helps? OH BUT FIRST! SOS did you call the help line? They have one and they made it so easy for me to get it on my lap top! I could get it on big computer but not lap top, but called them they walked me to the spot that was the problem, they knew just what to do!
Thank ya'll. I did call the help line and I have them baffled. I think my computer doesn't like their software for some reason. Thanks, Melanee
I haven't used it but story of the worl has an audio CD which I believe has all the stories read on it - so that might be an option for you. also maybe this site can help http://www.hippocampus.org/index.html it has video presentations on a comprehensive range of topics across several subject areas, including biology, environmental science, algebra, calculus, physics, US history & US government and one last thing - don't give up - dyslexic children can be taught to read - my ds can!!!
Melanee, I'm sorry I don't remember how old your DDs are? Can you spend a weekend or two reading some lessons into a recorder of your own- maybe the others can help? When my in-laws lived further away, they would read stories to my kids onto a tape and then send them to us. Very cool thing to have! Just a thought- obviously it would be labor intensive for an entire curriculum, but could help fill in some gaps perhaps.... MT3
