A local girl in the town I live in just won a grant from Huggies to promote a product she designed. It's called a WateRoo. It's a wrap that holds a baby to you so you can work hands free. It's a similar style to wraps that are on the market now, except for three things. 1.) It's made from mesh that allows for more air regulation around the baby. (Mom and baby don’t overheat.) 2.) This mesh also allows a mom to go into the water with the baby wrapped in it. It doesn't stretch out of shape when wet, and dries quickly. 3.) Because it is a soft mesh it is more comfortable/soothing for the baby as well. My daughter has one and raves about it. She was able to take the baby into the pool on a recent vacation, leaving her hands free to assist her 19 month old. She said she doesn't overheat while wearing it either. Another she tried wasn't as comfortable because of this. The company name is Lucky Ducky Baby. Leslie, who started this up, is offering a contest for a free WateRoo this month. I know this is legit because I know Leslie personally. Just become a fan on FaceBook and the information is there on how to register. Tell your friends about it. I'd like to get the word out for her about her product as well as the contest. Thank you all, I will post the site here. Search on facebook for: LuckyDuckyBaby Make sure you keep the name just as I have it above. It all runs together. Good luck to all that enter.
I am just now seeing this. I have a cousin expecting in Jan. so I want to enter for her. Thanks for sharing!
I tried but you have to be the parent of a baby 5-25 pounds and post a picture of the baby online. I do think it looks like a great product and would have loved winning it for my cousin. She is having her 4th and I am sure she could use all the help she can get to keep her hands free.
It would be a wonderful gift and I looked at the site, but they are $50.00 and that is out of our budget for baby shower gifts even for a favorite cousin. It was cute though and looked very handy. I think she will be getting a handmade baby quilt from me. I know she will like it. She is a very special cousin.
I'm making a baby quilt for my dss. They're due in April. I'm using some adorable teddy bear material left over from Phillip's curtain and comforter. But I told them that as soon as they find out if it's a boy or girl, they had to let me know. If it's a girl, I'm going to have to change my plans!
The contest ended today and she has picked a winner. Since I know her personally I will know if she adds products, or has another contest. I will be sure to post it on here. It does seem like a chunk of money, but the other ones on the market start at $70. And I don't think they are as good as hers. I love the quilt idea. Let us know what it looks like when you get it done.
Tell you friend she should have a contest for everyone so grandmas and cousins and everyone can join in the fun! It really does look like a great product. She should do great with it. Thanks for telling us about her.
Feel free to pass along her information. She intends to employ moms to sew at home for her, enabling them to stay at home with their children. The more successful she is, the more moms get to work at home.
