    Has anyone used these materials to homeschool. If so, did you use it exclusively or add in extra things. I'd love to hear your thoughts.

    we use it a supplement

    I have the whole series - I got them for a buck each (plus shipping) at half.com. They are useful when you are looking for supplemental information, like an encyclopedia for kids. We were studying Western Civ this year, and used all the books from 1st-5th to fill in any gaps. They are easy to read for the kids and cover all the basics - plus the literature section has related excerpts. For example, when were studied Middle Ages, he read the "King Arthur" stories in the 4th grade series, in addition to a book about Robin Hood.

    Your library might have copies if you want to check them out.
