Last month, I got a speeding tickett. First one EVER. Today, I have to go see the judge to see if they will reduce it. Could you pray for me? I am scared half out of my mind, which I know is kinda silly, but I still am.. Thanks
I am praying. Recently, my sister had to go to court because of a ticket. She made a left turn on a red, thinking she had the green. The light camera caught her and her ticket was $460. Thankfully the judge looked over her record and noticed that she wasn't the usual offender and dropped her fee to $125. I pray the same for you.
I was a municipal court clerk: If you have a clean record, ask for a DEFERRAL. We would keep the record in our office for six months, after the 6 months I would check the person's driving record and if it was clean the judge would not have me send the ticket to the state. The person just paid the fine in our office, the state never found out about the ticket or their ins. co. Another tip, if the officer who gave you the ticket does not show up at court, ask for it to be dismissed. Good luck!
I already plead guilty, you have to to have it mitigated (sp?). I don't mind, because I was speeding, so I kinda have to pay for my mistake. I am going to ask for a deferral, so I am hoping the judge will allow that. I would love a reduction in the fine, but it's only 97 to begin with, so I am not worried about it if she won't allow it.
$97 isn't bad at all. It isn't a good thing but considering the circumstances. In my sister's case, she pleaded guilty and there was no officer involved. The camera acted as an officer. It clocked her speed, time she turned on the red, and took a beautifully clear photo of her car, plate number, and her face close up.LOL She showed me the letter she received in the mail and I was amazed at well set up the camera system is. It makes it difficult for people to argue their case when they are caught by a camera. Some officers say they make a tighter case than when a person is pulled over by an officer for running a light.
I survived!!! I had to pay 210 for a deferral but it's worth it because it won't be reported to my insurance company as long as I don't get another ticket within a year Thanks for your prayers. My nerves really appreciated it.
