When I first saw the word written, it reminded me of one of the Greek words for sharing, but I don't think that would be it because I think it's missing a syllable. The word I was thinking of (I just looked up in my Greek dictionary) would be pronounced koy-nohn-ee'-ah~ meaning "partnership, participation or social intercourse, (to) communicate, fellowship".
