Oh I need prayer...... I am so struggling right now. I went to work today to do by dry runs, meaning driving our routes before we have kids. Anyway its completely not possible for me to do my runs in the time allowed which means I will be driving for a few weeks and not be getting paid for my overage. It gets me so upset..... If there is one thing that this family struggles with is money. I am so incredibly frugile and it burns me to no end to have to work without getting paid. Plus I struggle with my job. I just want to be home with my children but I need to work. God see's my struggle to get everything done. (sometimes I wonder) I am feeling so overwhelmed and frusterated. Please pray for me that God would work this out.
I hope that maybe you will be able to make better time while remaining a safe driver. How much overage are you expecting. Perhaps you could enquire about the accuracy of the time assigned to that route. Question other drivers who have had that route about how long it took them. In the mean time, you are still making what you expected even if you spend more time doing so. You are loosing time not money. Maybe you can make up the time somewhere else in life. Don't get too depressed. Find other blessings in your life to focus on while this works itself out.
Praying for you....if asking about the "overage" to your employer gets you nowhere, is it something you can contact the department of labor about? I was also not being paid for the "extra" time it took me to close up a store since the boss (who NEVER actually stayed till closing since the store opened) thought it should only take a few minutes. Even if we wrote down our hours, he was still only paying us what he thought it should take. Turns out it's illegal not to pay you for time worked if you are an hourly employee. Just a thought.
((((HUGS)))) Praying....that stinks!!! Hoping that it all works out - and I agree - if they're scheduling the route and there's no way for you to complete it in the allotted time due to traffic and what not.....then they cannot not pay you....that is ILLEGAL!!! Bus drivers are union, are they not? File a grievance.
Well today is my first day. Lets see how things go. Actually according to hourly we are not. We bid on a block of time. We have to do it for a few weeks before they consider changes. I will keep you all posted. Thanks for the prayers
