It's all I have to hold on to...

He's up an moving around more than he has been and that's a good thing. He isn't having any pain (or not enough that he'll complain about or need to medicate) so I'll take each blessing and step forward as they come to us. We're having some issues with getting the bandage (tape) to stick and not expose the wound as it did a couple days ago and again tonight. EMH is bringing me the packing that he needs in the wound tomorrow morning so I had to use what we have here at home to get him through the night. Praying that he can get through the night without the antimicrobial packing in the wound.

I need to remember that God's timing and my timing aren't always the same and that this is going to take time to heal.

    Update

Sometimes I'm not sure how much is too much to say in order to update, so as I put this update I would ask that if I say something (maybe as I describe the wound) that is offensive in anyway, please tell me so in order that I may be more discreet/censor it.

That said this is my update:

His antibiotic therapy is due to finish tomorrow but I have asked the EMH nurse to ask about something longer term to prevent infection from taking over again and I ask this because today there is odor again where there hasn't been since his last two rounds of surgery (suggestive that infection is taking a hold again).

The actual wound itself doesn't look any worse for the wear and there is some drainage but no more so than there has been.

This is going to take time for it to heal and being a diabetic doesn't help matters but he has done amazing at controlling his diabetes since this all took place so that's on his side.

Thank you all for praying, we deeply appreciate it

    Update

The wound is healing nicely, praise God !! I saw it this weekend for the first time in close to a week (Extra-Mural has been doing his dressing changes because of my work schedule). It is now 2cm X 3cm on the outside and only 1.6 cm deep (it was 5 cm after the surgery). Theyr'e hoping to change his outer dressing later this week which would allow it to stay on a little bit longer but it's dependent on the amount of drainage.

On another note <Sigh> he just asked me to check his blood pressure said "my chest feels funny, like there's a bubble in it and it's skipping a beat" so I checked... 150/106 !!! I'm trying to talk him into going to have it checked at the hospital but I've yet to convince him that he needs to go.... NOW !!!

    God, I really CAN'T handle anymore !!

I didn't manage to get him up to the hospital (stubborn man!) but his pressure is back to what it should be this morning.
