I have been really frustrated today. Whenever I switch pages or open a thread to read I have to wait each time for the ad to load. It doesn't seem to be a problem on anything else, just the Direct TV ad. It's so slow that I have been doing my hand-held Sudoku game in while waiting each time. Has anyone else had this problem? IDK, maybe Direct TV just has it in for me! I hope this is not an on-going issue.
I think all the computers are slow its the hot weather. no really no trouble here I hope you get it worked out soon.
The ads are triggered by popular topics. For instance, the ads up earlier today, when the subject of printer ink was being discussed, were for various ink retailers.
I've been all over this board for the last hour, and haven't seen a DirectTV ad yet! AH! as soon as I posted this, one came up. But it loaded instantly, animated appropriately, no probs! My computer isn't slower than usual, either!
A while back I downloaded an add-on for my browser (I use firefox) called Adblock Plus. It is awesome.. it blocks ads like crazy and my web pages load really fast. I can't post links yet, but if you go to the mozilla web site you can find it. I would guess most browsers now would have something similar!
