When you find some irresistible printable online do you print it right away or wait until you need it?

I had saved links to all sorts of goodies that I wanted to print, but didn't need at the time, but now most of them don't exist anymore. :( Either the entire site doesn't exist or they took the item off the site. Now I'm bummed....

Do you keep a file of items to use at some point in time? Or just wing it as you go?

If I am going to use something in the next month or two I print it when I find it. Otherwise I save the file into Dropbox so I can print it another time. I have learned the hard way that saving links doesn't work because things get moved or closed or whatever. :(

I usually print a week or two's at a time. When we first began homeschooling, I printed tons of stuff as I found it. I ended up with a huge file box of stuff that never got used. I do sometimes save the files to print later.

Free printables do come and go often, what I normally do is, save it to a thumb drive. Then I print it off of my thumb drive as I need it.

If it's not a PDF (which most are) I do a print some thing ahead of time and keep them in a 3 ring binder. But that doesn't happen often...

Oooh, I like the thumb drive idea! I think I have a little one somewhere. I've also printed stuff ahead of time and then ended up not using it, so I hate to do that.

A lot of the files are pdf that I find online, and I save them into a printable folder on my desktop, which is then organized into sub folders for each subject. When I am doing a certain topic I just go to the folder, and print what I need from there.

I usually search as I'm needing so it gets printed right away.. I do have LOTS in my favorites that I will probably never use because I forget what I have.. I'm just not very organized. Something I need to work on.. :)

I save everything. Seriously - I figured out I have over 100gigs of homeschool stuff saved on my external hard drive from all the years. I can homeschool the 6 year old for free based on what I have - at least through 3rd grade!! So now I am able to just search and find - but there is always more out there - LOL

Some things I print, some I save. If it's a PDF it's easy to save for later, if it's not I print it to a pdf file (I have Adobe but there are free pdf printer programs out there to download). I never expect to find something ever again when I find it online..lol
