Well, my DD is just not responding to the Oak Meadow 1st grade. It is too gentle and too much reading. Heck the readings even bore me. My DD has CAPD and just can not focus on lengthy stories with extensive descriptions and large vocab words.

I do understand that the Waldorf method is about perserving childhood for as long as possible. But she craves more then me reading to her stories she can't understand or drawing letters in the sand. I think this would be great for an auditory learning, who has a very vivid imagination. Not my kid ;)

Anyway, I was thinking lapbooks. They seem very visual. Any other suggestions?

Just to add. My oldest DS loves OM. He is responding wonderfully to it. The book choices for both grades are great (4th and 5th). The learning is very hands on and my boys are loving it! We have more projects around the house already this year then we had for the past two years combined. However for my boys who are ahead in math, we had to supplement their math as well. The math is slow for them.

Sorry, I had two babies crawling on me and two other children trying to get direction for the day.

I am looking for what can be used for a visual learner. It looks like lapbooks are very visual. She really has to see it in order to be able to process any information.

Lapbooks sound great! You can even take some of the info from Oak Meadow and apply it to the Lapbook in a way your daughter understands. There are also a lot of printables online.

This is pretty much for all subjects. We are doing ReadingEggs and Starfall online. She is responding very well to these two programs, especially the ReadingEggs. RE is a very visual "phonics/high freq word" reading program.

We only do 2-3 workbook type pages at the moment. Any more then that and she is bored. But she needs to practice writing. Perhaps with lapbooks, we can combine the writing with the lapbook study?

Is the only place to get full lapbook studies with directions and printouts at CurrClick? Cheap complete lapbooks would be great. Free would be ideal. Since I already spent money on the OM curriculum, it would be nice to not have to invest a bunch more money on learning.

Thanks for all the help so far!

Have you looked at the units and lapbooks available at www.homeschoolshare.com? Those might be a good place to start, and it's free :)

Thanks for the links and suggestions!

We have tried a couple museums. The noise is too much for her. The longest she lasted was 10 mins before begging to leave. :( But we have done alot of tours on the computer. She can sit through most anything if we do it from here.
