I think it is so neat that there are so many things out there, Id still like to know how much difficulty there is in erasing the wax pencils or whatever they were called?
AWESOME idea! Of course, I just bought a set of dry erase markers last night! I really love the put-it-over-maps idea. I may have missed it - did anyone say where you can get waxed pencils? (Starts thinking about a lap board possibilities for each kid....laying it over the atlas, math texts, etc...)
Teacher supply stores, office supply stores, and art supply stores. I found a large color selection at a local art supply store in the Drafting department, where the T squares and templates are. Not sure if that helps... Here is a photo showing the type I have... And here is a link to some that I want to buy.... https://www.redcheetah.com/lci/item_details.php?sess_id=699dd31af2e64831a3553a636f9a4ac4&sku=107112 Not an affiliate link, just thought they were cool.
these are the things we used when we were kids! WOW Cool! Okay but did you ever say how to clean it off? Wax is not that easy to clean off of something.. Jen what do you use? Thanks so much for the visual! You are awesome!
I wanted to point out that sometimes these are also called Grease Pencils.. just in case wax pencils are not found when someone searches... Anyway... Erasing.... It is NOT as easy as dry erase to erase. However, different people have found different way that works for them.My ersonal fav is the regular (Well made) dry erase Eraser. I have two. One that is flimsy that I got from walmart... does not work well... and one that is stout. I got it from Office Depot.. it works well. If something has been left on the board for a while, like all day... then I might use a paper towel. And if something stays too long, and dries I might use a magic eraser (From mr clean I love those!). But for me, the dry erase Eraser and paper towels are really it. Others may have other experiences..
