Does anybody use them? I love that there are so many free books online, but I don't like to read books on the computer screen and I don't want to print that many pages. Are these sources usually compatible with the ebook readers? I've never used one and don't know much about them. Can you tell me which one you use and what you do or don't like about it?

I saw a man using one of those things that amazon.com sells. It was pretty impressive as far as the screen goes in terms of ease on the eyes.

I am not sure that they work with stuff that you do not buy through the kindle program however.

I use a pocket pc to view some files. But would rather use larger text on a computer screen.

I have found that reading on the computer screen is made much more pleasant if you change the background color to light grey, with black, or dark blue or light beigh/cream color with brown or green letters.

THis reduces the contrast and makes things easier on the eyes. This is also a good trick for dyslexics to tone things down for them when using a word processor for composition.

If I had the money I would buy the Kindle from Amazon. It does work with other types of text etc.

BUT - since I don't - I will be looking into SOMETHING cheap for both kids I think. Especially since a lot of our books are in DOC format this year (or PDF).

Of course - I am still waiting to win the lottery so I can buy something ;)
