anyone else get these? I was watching the cooking channel or was it food network. Well anyways it was one of them and someone mentioned these to be the best turkeys you could get. So, I called my local meat guy and he is ordering in one for me. They cost a bit more than the frozen ones, but I was wondering if you do the farm fresh are they worth the extra price?
I've not tried one. My dad had wild turkey but didn't like it. I curretly have 4 frozen turkeys in our freezer and I"m sure we'll end up with more while they are such a good price. can't beat .29 per pound.
Don't get me wrong I will stock up on the frozen for the rest of the year. Since we have cut out most our beef and other red meats out of our diet, I will be stocking up on turkey to add in throughout the year. You are getting them for .29 per pound? Here they are like .89+ a pound.
Farm fresh is great only if they were raised well. I have had both good farm fresh and some awful farm fresh. It also depends on whether the animal was butchered properly or not. I can't tell you how much I hate pulling pin feathers out of my meal
Growing up my dad raised our turkeys. The turkeys were great as long as they were young. The older turkeys had tough meat.
