WOULD ANYONE KNOW WHERE i COULD BUY USED FELT BIBLE STORIES OTHER THEN E_BAY? i USE THEM AT LOT IN TEACHING AND THEY ARE HARD TO FIND.
You know, there's one kind that are very good but expensive. I used them when I taught Sunday School at my old church. I'm going to see if I can find them..... BETTY LUKENS!!! They're very nice, but EXPENSIVE!!! Do a search for "Bible"+"Flannel board" (or "Felt board), and you'll find a lot. Some may be cheaper than hers.
You could look at a local teacher resource store. Many of them have a Christian section. Ours does, but not sure if you can get them online. It's www.learningshop.com You can also look at some Christian book stores.
Now that I re-read your post, I realize you wanted used ones. Sorry, can't help you there. You can look into making your own though too. It may be cheaper.
Hey, I had some that I made around her someplace, I will look tomorrow and see what I have, my husband and I were children's pastors at one time. I may actually have some in a booklet that I did not use that is about the Nativity or the crusifiction, don't remember which one.... So let me look around and get back to you sometime Thursday or Friday of this week ( begining of June 2006 hehe) Be blessed!
I work with Child Evangelism Fellowship and they do not have the felt figures, they have paper with flocked on the back. They are not free either. There might be a retired CEF teacher in your area that would like to donate them to you. Check with the older ladies in your church. CEF has been around since 1937, soooo there might be some retired flannel figures around. I have some here that people have donated to me. If you have something in particular that you are looking for, I will check and mail them to you, just let me know. They are still good and can be used. No sense in just sitting in my basement if you will use them. I think Betty Lukens and Little People are the only ones that make the felt pieces and yes, they are very expensive. If you are using them in teaching at your church, the church might purchase them for you or they might even have a set. The children love to learn from them, they are so much easier for visual learners. I use them whenever I can. I hope this helps.
Sorry Ohio Grandma, it has been a few years ( like 18?) since we recieved ours for free, but then again we WERE a Mission church so that could be why. Also the local person gave us old stuff or something as kids pastors, not a lot though. I guess times have changed, that last one was only like ten or eleven years ago hehee. I will say that you folks have done a lot for our ministries in the past! God bless you!
