I hope this doesnt sound like a shallow prayer request, but here it goes....would you kind ladies say a small prayer for dd birthday (she is 7 tommorrow!! where has it gone??). We are having a bday party at Chuck E Cheese. All of my family and a little of dh family will be there. By brother's ex-wife, I think is coming as they are gonna bring my nephew to see Elmo after the party. I have to chosen to behave as Christ would want me too~to be polite and civil and kind. However, the rest of the family does hold grudges for eternity (she really put my brother through you-know -what this last year.) and I am just afraid that someone will get into it at the party. AND, my mil and my family do not really get along either. Mil has a tendency to be harsh at times and blurts stuff out that she shouldnt. I love her, and I know how to take her (with a grain of salt!) but my family can get aggravated and hold a grudge..... Please, please pray that the peace of God will be with everyone tommorrow and everyone will be civil (I dont expect them to be kissy kissy! Civil will be perfectly fine!!) with each other and no one will ruin dd birthday (they had better not for what I am paying to have it at CEC!!!:shock. I just want a peacefull nice day for dd and dh and I!! Thanks guys!! God Bless!!
I will certainly be praying. This is not a "shallow" request at all. If God cares about the Sparrow that falls in the field, how much more does he care about the celebration of the life of one of his precious babies?
Are we related?? It sounds so much like my family and my inlaws!! Don't thinkt this type of request is shallow. I know where you are comming from, and I know how stressful it can be to try to keep the peace for just one day. I'll be praying!
I totally understand and will be praying for a peaceful birthday for the birthday girl. Tell her Happy Birthday for me. Beth
Shallow? ABSOLUTLY NOT! Of course you want the party to go nicely, and of course you want your family to all behave themselves when together. I'll surely be praying that all goes smoothly!
We will certainly pray. Hope it is going/went well for your dd, especially, today! Let us know how things turned out! Praying.....
THANK YOU !! THANK YOU !!! THANK YOU!!!! If I could I would send all of you a dozen roses!! PRAISE THE LORD !!!!! Everything went SO peacefull Saturday!!! It was a really wonderful day!!! My dear mil (who has a tendancy to get "nervous" arond these situations and kids..) was so calm and peaceful, my mom wasnt a pain in the behind (lol~I love my mom, I really do...) My aunts socialized with mil (miracle in itself!!) If anyone needs to see proof of the power of prayer, they would have surely seen it at Chuck E Cheese!!! Everyone was sooooo happy and calm and peaceful!! Yall really must have stormed heaven and for that I am so very grateful!! Since my dd was 2, we have not had a peaceful birthday. For a few years, I have had to have two gatherings, as my mom would not be in the same room with my dh sister (long awful story!!), and as you can imagine, that would cause soooo much tension with dh and I (he did have a point......his home too, he should have who he wanted there) so I remember, saying one year that it was a shame that I could not enjoy planning dd birthday (it is my thing, something I really enjoyed doing, but I was too busy negotiating between the families to enjoy). Always around dd birthday, was filled with anxiety . stress and tears!! BUT NOT THIS YEAR!!!!!! This year was WONDERFUL!! We had a fabulous time with dd and the family!!! The only complaint came from dear ole mom (of course!!!! I dont think she can help herself!! lol!) and it was that she could not see dh open her gift (ummm helloooooo~ I told her to come to the end of the table to see the opening of the gifts......so her bad!! lol!) So thank you ladies, I truely feel blessed to be able to have friends like all of you and to be on this forum! Thanks again and God Bless all of you!! I love you guys (umm~gals? lol)!!!!
YAY! I love when we see God's hand at work. There are some serious warriors on this board, too, I know God always seems to respond when this group prays! I come here with all of them!
