Do you have your child pick each day or each week? I keep thinking someone said 3 a day? Also, I thought someone said they put fun stuff on some of the sticks as well, so it's not always a chore. Could you give me some suggestions?

I don't use sticks. However they do pick out chores from a list. I had one when they were smaller that was a get out of chores for the day. But they couldn't see what they were picking then. And we do chores almost everyday. Some days they aren't up to it and so I let it go. :)

The best way chores got done in my house was when I had a list and they picked three a day. The older kids do have assigned chores now..like my dd does dinner dishes all week and my ds does dishes all weekend. I love chores that help me out. LOL. Actually, it is a huge help as after dinner I am busy with getting two little kids to bed.

I am TERRIBLE at keeping up with chore charts! We do have a chore spinner...it's a circle with with a spinner thingy and it spins to a chore...that was a silly explanation...at any rate they like that as well.

My preferred method is just to tell them as needed. However, I don't think that really teaches them as much as having jobs they are responsible for or jobs assigned in the morning.
