Have you looked at Hey Andrew....stuff? It's done by a Homeschool mom, and they have Greek and Latin. That's what my ds is using for Greek. We also did the Latin for about 1 1/2 years when the boys were little.

Deena thanks for reminding me! I sent a catalogue to Dd and dh! Dd will get it in the mail dh will get it on Email and will get to order it hah! I Love that I send him email of what I want, or write notes and then we go over it and he orders what we decide on. I love the Hey arnold stuff so hopefully this year we will get it! She reminded me she DOES want to take it and since she may go out next year, we need to get it down this year at least for a starter!

Deena, no I never heard of that one..I'll have to look at it. I thought that Latina Christiana was the only program available for "little" children. I'll take a look maybe it will be better than the other. We thought about starting it next year but I just think that's too much in first grade so we'll start doing Latin in second grade and it will probably be a two or three year study to help with their grammar and word skills. If they remember it long enough (lol) it will also help with the SAT's when that time comes! (maybe we'll do a quick refresher course for that one)

Birbitt, do you know that Prima Latina comes before Latina Crhistiana? It's for kids even younger.

We'll be starting French this year, using Nallenart for our curriculum. Starting out we'll be using their L'art a Dire ("art of speaking") program for language skills/vocabulary, and moving on to L'art de Lire ("art of reading") once I'm confident ds has a firm grasp on English phonics & grammar, probably around 3rd grade or so.

French is an official language of Canada, and we live in the only officially bilingual province. Job opportunities are much more abundant (and usually better paying) for someone who is fluent in both languages. French is also the first language of 98% of my family, so it's important to me for my children to become fluent.

Jackie yes, I know...that's actually what we'll be using..I always get the two confused...But I still don't think we'll start it until 2nd grade just because I don't want to overwhelm the boys....especially since Skyler is really a year younger than the work he's doing...so I'm trying to stick to the basics until he hits the right age for 1st grade which will be in his 2nd grade year.

Angie, I think you are so lucky to live in a bilingual place. That would be sooo cool.
dd is learning French b/c a language is required here in yr 7, and she chose French b/c she hopes one day to go to France as an exchange student. We have made it about half way through a program that just wasn't working, and this term we will start on 'The easy French', which I hope will be much better. I can't wait to order it, but I must wait unit pay day, boo hoo!
