I am not affiliated with Vision Forum, but I appreciate their perspective. They are offering a free CD on the dad's role in home education, for a donation of any amount to their associated non-profit ministry. I know many wives wish their husbands would take a greater role in homeschooling and expect this message will encourage that. I have requested the CD myself and thought others may want to take advantage of the offer - good through August 16. Here's an overview from VisionForum: "The Visionary Father’s Role in Home Education tackles these questions and more by laying out seven fundamentals of biblical fatherhood applied to home education: The duty of fathers to lead with love by casting vision; providing distinctively biblical discipleship; spiritually defending the realm of the Christian household from external danger; overseeing the “big picture” direction for household management; enforcing discipline; serving as the resident historian; and leading in family worship." Darn it, I'm jealous. That's no good for my husband as he's an atheist. If there were a secular version it would be exactly what I've been looking for for some time. All the good resources are Christian. I'm going to sulk now!
http://www.familymanweb.com/ is another EXCELLENT resource for guys! Todd Wilson sends out a weekly e-mail for homeschooling dad. I know Carl really appreciates them! (Sorry, Dawn! It's also Christian, but there's a lot of good stuff that even a "heathen" can appreciate, so maybe he'll read them anyway!)
