    Start small and practical.
Do you have any background in French? Can you (or she) read French with the correct pronunciation (or an understandable approximation)

Don't go and invest in something like Rosetta Stone or Tell Me More.

    Try:
    Play and Learn French
    Everything Kids Book for French
    Living Language French
    Teach Yourself French

The first two are especially meant for children, the others are meant for Anglophone, French Students and are very good and cheap materials. Look into sites like Livemocha.com for French Language Exchanges and such.

Many DVD's can be played with French Audio and/or Subtitles, check to see if any in your collection can. Look for DVD's with French options at the video store.

Find French Podcasts for beginners and let her listen to them.

Check out ie-languages.com for a very good, 100% free French curriculum introduction

Check out FSI's French Programs also Free. They were designed by the US Govt. to train/teach soldiers and diplomats so they aren't "kiddish" at all, but highly respected among serious Language learners as being through.

Dont waste too much money, see how much is available through your public library or university/college libraries near by you.

Check and see if your library has access to MangoLanguages.

If you're Daughter MASTERS the material from the above sources, you might look at something like Tell Me More or send her for a stay in a Francophone region/country.

    Good luck.

(I'm really in to languages! You can PM me anytime for more explicit advice/discussion.)

If your DD is really doing well w

All Gizzy's advice sounds about right. We're using the Mango program through our library. We'll have to m ove to something else eventually since our library only has the basics and not the advanced part to study. I say books and recordings are great too.

Nallenart has great reviews. I haven't seen or used it yet though. I'll be ordering ours next week. There are 3 different programs (pre-reader, reader, and high school). I am getting the L'Art de LIRE Level 1. You can see more info here and here.

I've had trouble finding a French curriculum. We've tried Rosetta Stone and Power Glide. I really didn't care for either. This year, I bought SOS and it seems to be working well for Rachael.
