So, I've fallen down alot over the past few weeks and I need tips on getting back into the groove of things. In fact, we've been off point since around the 12th. We've gotten so far behind its really not funny and now its approaching really bad.

My goal is to finish off what we're working on so that we can start fresh in October.

We're still doing Book A Day, (more of less) and 6yo is reading a lot. I'm trying to get him reading beyond "early readers" and into story books. We really enjoyed No Roses for Harry yesterday, today we'll be reading SuperBabe at the Park and A Different Tune...
I am finding it REALLY hard to get back on track after breaking routine, so I'm hoping to use the last days of September to get us back on Track...

How do you pick yourselves up and get back to the land of the productive and learning? after an extended, unexpected detour or lapse?

We're supposed to start Spanish and Science in October also so we're all excited about that.

Sometimes a fresh start is exactly the answer. If you catch up in the next few days, fine; but if you don't, you can still start "like new" Friday.

ok if you were using SOS I would say regenerate your lessons!
But hey why not? Just reset the dates you want to be where ever in the lessons and forget the 12 days!
You arehome schooling enjoy it! flexible ( I talk to myself here as I am so out of sinc this year, with a water heater going down and waiting for what to do for some thing,s finally got it figured out late and am going with the flow) Flexibility!
I am not totally there yet but have rescheduled our times to fit our needs this year, ds is feeling a bit over whelmed for the moment but he will get into it evenntually

This has happened to us a couple of times over the years. I generally don't worry about your typical "catch up" and just jump back into a good routine. I have found that the work usually evens out since we don't take off for snow days, teacher inservice, or the millions of other things that slow down the local schools.

Who says you're behind? It's homeschool, there is no behind ;)

But I do understand getting out of a routine. I try to add back/focus on one thing at a time for 2-3 days or even a week, then add another thing, then another, etc, until you're back in your groove....
