I'm already miserable. I spent a small fortune on flour last night so I could make bread for him, since that's all that he can keep down with any degree of regularity.

Pray that it starts to help soon. I know it can take months, but without knowing when he can see a doctor, I am not OK with "months." I need hours.

Praying. I actually have one with frequent tummy aches (no vomiting or diarrhea though) and a GF diet was suggested. I honestly can't afford it. That stuff is so crazy expensive!! I'm praying that you find the source of the problem-whatever it may be- and that your son can tolerate foods soon!

GF will start to give a little bit of relief within a couple weeks. It won't be 100%, but it will start the process of the villi repairing themselves. make sure he's getting natural sources of Vitamin C and Zinc - this will also aid the healing process.

Does he tolerate bone and vegetable broths?

Right now he doesn't tolerate anything. Everything he eats either comes right back up or straight down (if you know what I mean).

Oh dear. How can I live with him starving for weeks?! And DH said that if there's no improvement by Wednesday, we're going to stop buying GF stuff because it's too expensive to waste like that. He'd be better off just fasting, because he's getting exactly the same amount of nutrients.

I avoid doctors and am VERY alternative with my familys health. If it were me and no dr. would see my son I would find a chiropractor that does kinesiology. Of course not all of them are great at it. If you find a good one they can muscle test to find the problem. Or (and this is where some people think I'm crazy) you could find an energy healer and see what they can find. Energy healers can test and heal from a distance. Just so you know, I used to think energy healing was crazy and people who believed in it were nuts, until my son became super sick everytime he ate almost anything and out of sheer frustration because no doctor could tell me what was wrong I went to our chiropractor who recommended energy healing. We gave it a try and within 2 days my son was fine and back to normal. You can PM me for more info if you want.

Just went to make the bread I planned to make (the author notes that she's used GF flour with great results), only to read the package of GF flour and find out that you have add xantham gum. Guess what I didn't buy?

    I want to cry.

Somehow I missed this. By energy healer, is that biofeedback? There's a guy sort of locally who does biofeeback.

I'm struggling because I don't know anyone here. If I were in Springfield, I'd know a dozen people who could treat him naturally. The one local referral to a naturopath didn't sit right with me once I read his website.

I was able to make an appointment with a specialist that comes highly recommended by people in our homeschool group. He'll test for gluten so we'll know for sure. The appointment isn't until November 1st, though. DH said we'd do GF with him until then, just in case.

I don't know exactly where you are, but I found these on a vax-friendly list for AR. Maybe one is not too far?

    Thanks!

I'm still calling through the list I got from the homeschool group overnight. So far, finding someone who's taking new patients is the hard part. [Though not having insurance helps; I've found a few who are ONLY accepting self-pay, but they are booked out for several weeks.] They are a little closer to me than Little Rock, but if they don't pan out, LR isn't a horrible drive.

ETA: I didn't now you could search for vax-friendly docs like that!

I feel for you guys. I hope you can find someone to get him in ASAP so they can start some testing or something.

Finding someone taking new patients is why we couldn't find one. Our urologist finally called his personal pedi and got her to see dd8. I don't think she's going to be vax friendly though. She's already questioned me.

Most of the time, his stomach rejects the food straight away. Like, he'll be three bites in and have to go throw up. The few times the food stays down, it rushes right out. Vomiting was his first symptom, with the diarrhea following about 48 hours later.

I suppose Giardiasis is possible, but with the little reading I've done so far, the symptoms don't align. Still... nothing we can do until he can see a doctor.

Has anyone mentioned the possibility of some sort of stenosis? I didn't think immediate rejection was common with the need for a GF diet.

Stenosis? I don't even know what that is. The nurses at church said that gluten allergies will aggravate the lining of the stomach and intestines to the point that they cannot function.

I am glad you found someone who will see your son. Hopefully he will be able to find out what is going on with your son. To answer your question, Biofeedback is not the same as energy healing. Biofeedback requires you to be hooked to a machine that is sort of like your body's sixth sense. Energy healing doesn't use a machine, you use muscle testing kind of similar to kineseology. I am typing this from my phone and can't get to a computer right now, but I have a few links I can send you if you are interested.
