I put pork or beef in the crockpot and add half a bottle of bbq sauce (save the rest of the sauce for the end) if you want add onion or dehydrated onion. When its tender shred up and ladel some of the juices from the crockpot into your shredded meat then add the rest of the bbq sauce and stir and microwave until sauce is heated through and meat is hot again. Serve on rolls (really good with a few pickle slices--steam the buns in the microwave for a few seconds or broil slightly in the oven)

my husband is from NC and he makes "BBQ" wich is a grilled pork shoulder, (with a rub) then he chops it and puts in some of his pepper vinegar--- pepper vinegar is apple cider vinegar with a lot of red pepper flakes that "marinates" for a few weeks.... the pepper vinegar is poured into the chopped meat and then heated through it makes a spicy yet yummy sandwich)

I marinate a piece of pork shoulder in even amounts brown sugar and chili powder in a dry rub - rub it all over and put in plastic bag overnight. (I usually get a 4 or 5 pounder so we have lots of extra).

I put it in the crockpot the next day with 1/2 to full bottle of BBQ sauce (whatever's on sale, I'm not really picky!). Cook low and slow. Shred just before serving (sometiems I try to syphon off some of the fat from the sauce). Yum. now I want bbq too. Thanks a lot! LOL :)

Thank you all for these great ideas. I hope my crockpot is up to the task. It is going to get a lot of work. I also like the simplicity of these recipes. Thanks again!
