That's all a shame, what your Aldi's are like. Ours is not fancy, but it is neat and I suspect that's because of the good manager they have. I used to shop a little place called G.O. Grocery Outlet. Wow- what excellent deals. I went there for nearly two decades until they closed. Did any of you read Miserly Moms? It's a book that has cheap ways of living, with all kinds of food recipes and craft recipes. I made the fingerpaint recipe and it kept in our fridge over a year. My gripe is, this lady also wrote Frugal Families, which had many of the identical recipes and ideas in Miserly Moms. I felt gypped, since she was SUPPOSED to be advising on how to save money, not blow it.
HAHAHAHA @ Jackie !!! I totally agree with NOT sending hubbies into a grocery store. Mine can't seem to come home without pickles ... and not the economical ones either. He has to buy the cajunga jar of the name brand. Meat ?? He may as well ask the butcher to wrap up the cow ... I mean we do have a van LOL. He buys the reddest, bloodiest piece of beef and I mean ritualistically, too. If I've ever asked him to pick up meat for supper, it's either mooing beef or slab-sized pork chops ... like there are no clucking creatures on a farm. Oh yeah ... and he HAS to buy the BRICK of cheese, assuming I didn't already buy one. How he doesn't have a cholesterol problem I'll never know.
nice Be nice ladies. What do husbands in Canada do for jobs? I just thought with bills that high he needs a good good good paying job. Man oh man. We would go hungry and I actually thought my husband made good money. What do house payments run?
Re: nice 'I just thought with bills that high he needs a good good good paying job. ' That sentence made me laugh. A few weeks ago a mom at Kindermusik was talking about working again, and someone mentioned they used to make 11,000.00 a year at what ever they did before the baby came. This mom says 'Well, that IS a wife's salary.', like the inequality is okay.
I think there are more working HS moms than we realize. I have a friend that is an accountant, and I think her children sort of take a school break during 1040 season. (We know not to EVER ask her to do ANYTHING during this time, but if we're willing to take the kids on a field trip without her, that'd be GREAT, LOL!) Some career jobs are just more adaptable to homeschooling than others.
