Our group does art, PE and music, and our first day is tomorrow. The leader JUST sent us an email stating that our kids will need to bring fully-stocked art boxes for art class (thin and wide markers, colored pencils, regular pencils, glue sticks, scissors, crayons, a ruler and pencil sharpener).

When we had our orientation meeting weeks ago, she said they might need them or they might not, depending on how the budget worked out. But sheesh, couldn't we have had more than half a day's notice?

The contents from last year's art boxes got mixed in with the rest of our regular art supplies over the summer, and I have no idea where the plastic boxes themselves ended up. I'm doubly irritated because I JUST got back from shopping at Walmart (Something that is NOT easy or comfortable for me at this stage of pregnancy, as my feet and hands are starting to swell; plus, I can't even fit my tummy behind the steering wheel anymore so I have to be driven everywhere!). I could've gotten a few things then if I'd known!

I guess I'll have to dig through everything and piece together what I can til we can shop again.

Yikes, that is some short notice! Hopefully you can put it together from home. Good luck!

ok, I feel your frustration reading your words, just rela and have the kids play "find the _____" as a game today and use what--ever-- you can find for a box for now. They will think its fun sorting and sifting and you can breath a bit and put your feet up while they look.

That is soo irritating!! I would not stress about having everything perfect, just throw together a bag of what you can and tell the art teacher you had needed more notice and will pick the stuff up when you can.

Bless your heart! That sounds like a pain! Hope you're able to get everything together. I would say if not, you'll probably not be the only ones on this short notice!

Sometimes life is like that - I just went through an UGH with an homeschool group I am slowly extracting myself from, so I totally know where you are coming from! Sometimes you just want to shake people! :)

Maybe send her an email and ask what they will need for day 1 and then get the rest later...

Great idea chicamarun. They should have just told you to get it at orientation if you used it then great if not then maybe on another project.
